Album: Monday and Tuesday
Monday The convocation started off with a declaration from our Jurisdictional Bishop asking the whole Jurisdiction to fast and pray from 9:00 AM till 9:00 PM on Monday instead of a musical. Prayer went on at various churches all day into the night and ended at the Headquarters Church, Antioch COGIC. God really met us there and gave us assurance that He would bless our Holy Convocation. Our Bishop had final words and told us to be encouraged because God would meet us and bless. Tuesday Tuesday service started at 7:30 PM with the Women Department Praise Team Headed by Missionary Marti Hawkins who ministered throughout the evening, ushering us into the presence of God with reverence to Him in song. The service was truly blessed with singing and preaching of the Word by our guest Evangelist Michael O. Clerkey, Pastor of Light House COGIC, Dallas Texas. He preached under the anointing of the Holy Ghost. The State choir also ministered to us under the direction of our State Minister Of Music, Missionary Cynthia Singleton. Album: Friday
Friday was Women’s Day all day starting from the morning till evening with many events to include a day service. That night we were blessed by the Women’s choir who sang our hearts happy. Our first Lady of the Jurisdiction Missionary Thelma Johnson gave us words of greeting and encouraged us to keep on keeping on in doing the work of the Lord. She also encouraged our supervisor to continue in the leading of Women’s Department that the ministry can continue. Our supervisor thanked all the women that made up the Women’s Department and encouraged them to continue in the work of the Lord. Album: Official Day
Sunday began with Sunday School headed by Elder Darrack Scurles from 9:00 AM- 11:45 AM. There were classes for all ages and excitement in the air for banner competition. Our Official Day service followed and again the Red Lion Inn Aspen Hall was filled with the Saints. It started with an organ prelude followed by the Apostolic Processional of our Prelate Bishop Frank E. Johnson and his Ecclesiastical Staff. Prayer was rendered by Superintendent Roosevelt Dunn and lead in the hymn of worship by our Chief Adjutant of the Jurisdiction of Colorado Pastor Roland Joyner and our Statement of Faith by Pastor Roy Sudds. Our Jurisdictional Supervisor gave the official greetings to the Saints and encouraged then to continual working in the vineyard and to keep Christ in the for front. The choir again sang under the anointing of the Holy Ghost and many were blessed even so that they begin rejoicing and dancing in the Spirit. Our Bishop was introduced to us by the 1st Asst J L Washington, our leader Bishop Frank E. Johnson spoke to us and again encouraged us to continue in the work of the ministry. He let us know that God would see us through any situation and the devil cannot prevail because the blood of Jesus was against him. He told us the story of Jesus when he was being baptized and how God spoke and said “This is my son in whom I am well pleased,” even before He healed the sick or raised Lazarus from the dead and even before He went to the cross. He encouraged us to believe that, in perilous times, God would love us through to do the work He has motivated our hands to do, and the work that was started God will see completed. He also let us know that there would be a General Assembly real soon to discuss matters of business of the Jurisdiction and thanked those who made this Convocation what it was this week.
