Worshiping In Spirit and Truth6
Greetings and welcome to Antioch Church of God
In Christ. The Church of God In Christ's mission and goal is to
reach out to the community and to the world by allowing God to
lead us with love, knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Our
purpose is for Christ’s church to be perfected and that He be
glorified.
Through the emergent technology of the World Wide Web, we are
able to hold close and connect with our church family, Our
various church communities now have an online fellowship hall
and meeting place where we can share with and support one
another. It is my sincere prayer that this web ministry will
become a powerful tool for personal and church growth, outreach
and ministry.

My heart is filled with joy to know that God still has some
people who, in spite of perilous times, will come and worship
Him in spirit and in truth. Thank you for all that you have
contributed to God’s business, for it is necessary for kingdom
building.
My prayer for our church is that God reign in the mist of all
things because He knows all things and He knows the path that
all men take. My hope is that whatever God wants be made
manifest in whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, Whatsoever things are of good
report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, I
pray that we think on those things.
Thank you again so much for your support. I plan to go to heaven
out of this grand old Church Of God In Christ.
I welcome your feedback and suggestions for growing this new
ministry, and invite your frequent participation here.
The Right Reverend Frank Elijah Johnson
Prelate Emeritus, Jurisdiction of Colorado
Church of God In Christ
Our History6
The Antioch Church of God in Christ was organized January 1,
1966 in the home of Pastor Frank E. Johnsons and Sister Thelma
Johnson, located at 3051 Oneida Street, Denver, Colorado, 80207.
The church began with the Pastor and his wife, Frank and Thelma
Johnson and five other members. The members were: Mother Callie
M. Edward, Mother Coriene Moham, Mother Izora Conely, Missionary
Carrie Barr and Sister Lillie Johnson.
We began fasting and praying. The Lord blessed and the church
grew rapidly. Souls were soon saved and added to the church. Our
first converted soul was Sister Jimmie Lee Mack, the mother of
Sister Frankie Dyson and Missionary Kathy Whitehead.
In April of 1966, we purchased our first small church at 6825
East 26th Avenue. We worked and prayed and asked God to provide
a larger edifice. A building fund was organized and Sister
Lillie Johnson elected president. As of today, she still holds
this office.

In 1974, the Lord blessed us to build a new edifice at the same
address. We had a 30-year mortgage, however the Lord blessed us
to pay it off in fifteen years.
In 1989, a mortgage burning ceremony was held to honor God for
His faithfulness to his people. The messenger of the hour was
Elder Joseph Johnson. Elder Johnson was saved, sanctified and
Holy Ghost-filled at Antioch COGIC.
Other participants in the mortgage burning celebration were:
Bishop F.E. Johnson, Founder and Pastor, and his wife Thelma
Johnson, Elder Andrew Singleton, Elder Herbert Willis, Elder F.
Lamont Black, Minister Norman Lee, Deacon Ray Vaughn, Deacon
Bloys Donaldson, Deacon Willie Mayes, Deacon Al Williams, Deacon
George Black, Deacon Charles Stacks, Brother Willie Gillispie,
Mother Callie M. Edwards, Missionary Bobbie Davis and Sister
Lillie Johnson.
The Lord continue to bless and more souls were added to the
church. Out of this ministry, a number of elders became pastors:
