This Site Has Been DIscountinued6
We
welcome you to visit the new official website of the
Jurisdiction of Colorado, the official website
of the
Jurisdiction of Arizona, the site for the
Jurisdiction of Montana and the site for the
Jurisdiction of Wyoming for current Jurisdictional news and
information.
Thank you for visiting COGICWest. After much prayer and reflection, we have decided to suspend operations for COGICWest.Org. Our vision has always been one of unity and
support for the COGIC Jurisdictions of the four-corner states of
Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming, along with our friends
in Arizona and Montana, celebrating our oneness in Christ and
streamlining communications and events planning. However,
Jurisdictional support for this ministry simply isn't
there. We receive no news, no updates, and absolutely no funding
from any source, requiring us to draw resources and energy from
other areas of ministry. There simply appears to be no apparent
interest in this online ministry, and the resources this site
requires to keep current can be better employed on the PraiseNet
and affiliated web ministries.

We do thank those of you who have, indeed, supported this work,
and thank the thousands of COGIC friends who have visited this
site regularly. A choice to discontinue a work is never an easy
one or one made lightly, but unless and until this work is fully
embraced by the ministries it is intended to represent, we can
no longer justify the allocation of these resources. We welcome
you to visit the new official website of the
Jurisdiction of Colorado, the official website of the
Jurisdiction of Arizona, and the site for the
Jurisdiction of Wyoming for current Jurisdictional news and
information.
We will leave the site open as an archive of previous events,
including full access to archived video and other features,
however we will no longer be updating this web ministry. You are
always welcome here and welcome to visit us over on our parent
ministry,
PraiseNet.Org.

Worshiping In Spirit and Truth6
Greetings
and welcome to COGICWest. The Church of God In Christ's mission and goal is to
reach out to the community and to the world by allowing God to
lead us with love, knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Our
purpose is for Christ’s church to be perfected and that He be
glorified.
Through the emergent technology of the World Wide Web, we are
able to hold close and connect with our church family, Our
various church communities now have an online fellowship hall
and meeting place where we can share with and support one
another. It is my sincere prayer that this web ministry will
become a powerful tool for personal and church growth, outreach
and ministry.
My heart is filled with joy to know that God still has some
people who, in spite of perilous times, will come and worship
Him in spirit and in truth. Thank you for all that you have
contributed to God’s business, for it is necessary for kingdom
building.
My prayer for our church is that God reign in the mist of all
things because He knows all things and He knows the path that
all men take. My hope is that whatever God wants be made
manifest in whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, Whatsoever things are of good
report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, I
pray that we think on those things.
Thank you again so much for your support. I plan to go to heaven
out of this grand old Church Of God In Christ.
I welcome your feedback and suggestions for growing this new
ministry, and invite your frequent participation here.
The Right Reverend Frank Elijah Johnson
Prelate Emeritus, Jurisdiction of Colorado
Church of God In Christ
Bishop G.E. Patterson6
On March 20th, 2007, the Presiding Bishop of the Church of
God In Christ, The Most Reverend Gilbert Earl Patterson, passed
away at 4:03 PM at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis,
Tennessee, as a result of heart failure. Patterson was
surrounded by
his wife, Mrs. Louise Patterson, and his family. Two years ago,
Bishop
Patterson disclosed he had prostate cancer. In January, he was
hospitalized with undisclosed illness. COGICWest and the
PraiseNet. family extend our deepest condolences to the
Patterson family, the Bountiful Blessings Ministry and Temple of
Deliverance family. Through our collective grief at his loss, we
nonetheless celebrate the life of a great apostle of Jesus Christy,
a great friend and father to millions, who now enjoys the
eternal
reward of a life devoted to the highest calling.
Colorado Jurisdictional Prelate6
We
bless God for His appointment of District Superintendent
Roosevelt Dunn as the Ecclesiastical Prelate of Colorado.
succeeding the Right Reverend Frank Elijah Johnson, who served
honorably as Colorado Bishop for twenty-three years. A native of
Hamburg, Arkansas, Bishop Dunn grew up in Little Rock
and Kansas City before joining the military during the
Korean Conflict. Shortly after completing his military
service, Bishop Dunn relocated to Colorado where he
founded the Israelite Church of God In Christ on
February 15, 1972. Today the thriving COGIC ministry
includes a full-time learning center, a publishing
company, video and radio production facilities, and a
newly-constructed multipurpose center. Bishop Dunn's
vision for the Colorado Jurisdiction is to embrace unity
and move to the next level., including the long-desired
construction of a state temple, likely in Denver.
We welcome
and affirm Bishop Designate Dunn and the Israelite COGIC family,
and wait anxiously for the great things God can and will do
through this great Jurisdiction of Colorado.
The leadership changes within the Jurisdiction heralds a change
for the mission and direction of COGICWest, which will no longer
serve the Jurisdiction of Colorado in an official capacity
but will continue as an archive of record for events chronicled
here during the final years of Bishop Johnson's ministry.
Articles, essays and video records archived here will remain
available to everyone, as COGICWest becomes a ministerial
outreach of parent ministry PraiseNet.Org.
2006 State of The Black Union Symposium6
Early this year, The Smiley Group presented the 2006 Annual
State of the Black Union, a symposium of some of the greatest
thinkers and civic leaders in the black community. Brilliant
minds spanning fields of business and finance, education, arts,
technology and religion—big names and relative unknowns—formed a
tapestry of wonderful voices. Some we won’t agree with, many
that we will. A cornucopia of wisdom and knowledgeable advice
for Black America.

District Superintendent J.L. Washington6
First
Ecclesiastical Assistant to the Bishop and Pastor of
Evangelist (now Washington Memorial) Temple COGIC in Denver,,
District Superintendent Joel L. Washington went to his reward on
December 6th, 2005. A true evangelist and hard worker,
Elder J.L. Washington was indeed a pastor's Pastor. A warm and
knowable father figure, Supt. Washington's patience, wisdom and
good humor made him a stand-out in the Lord's ministry. The
First Assistant represents the Bishop in his absence and assists
the Bishop in his duties..
