We exist for mission. We must decide together why God has drawn us together. We must live out that cause and live it like our lives depend upon it. Who are we called to reach? What are we called to do? How can we return our community to the dream of God, the perfect plan for the people he made? This is the mission we must be on. It isn’t a statement, it isn’t a slogan, or a program, or a ministry. It is our mission and God is the powerful gust that will propel us and drive us as we listen daily to his stirring with in us.

Please be praying for Sharon’s mom, Grace Bubke. Tomorrow Grace will be having heart surgery to fix a malfunctioning aortic valve. While undergoing preliminary exams yesterday they also found that Grace has two arteries that are more than 50% blocked. So in addition to the value replacement Grace will also be having double bypass surgery (where veins are removed from the leg and grafted around the blocked arteries). The doctors remain confident that the procedures will be successful and the surgery remains on schedule for this morning (Thursday, the 3rd). Sharon talked with her mom just a few minutes ago and Grace is understandably nervous and apprehensive (okay – she’s scared) about it.
Please pray for Grace to experience God’s supernatural peace and a calmness and confidence. The kind that only the Holy Spirit can bring. Pray also for the doctors that God’s hand will be guiding them through the surgery.
Sharon will be heading out to California next week to help take care of her mom when she is released from the hospital. Sharon leaves on the 9th.
Thanks for your prayers.

I suppose our first prayer request ought to be for God’s anointing on all that we say, on everything we set our hands to do. My most fervent prayer for this online ministry is that it be a newsroom rather than a scrapbook. That it crackle with life and energy and love and faith and, because of those things, that God’s power might be manifest here. That the Holy Spirit would go before us, make the crooked places straight and break up the rocky soil.
My prayer request is the NTC family use this tool to stir up the wind.
