October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and in recognition, on October 7th, 2006, 2 Sisters Behavioral Consulting will host A Day of Community Concern. This event is meant to give the community a sense of connectedness that suggests their power to reverse domestic violence. It is an opportunity for victims and the community to know that domestic violence is a serious concern. 2 Sisters Behavioral Consulting would like to invite you to help play a crucial role in saving lives.
Everyday in the United States, estimates range from 960,000 incidents of violence against a current or former spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend per year to three million women who are physically abused by their husband or boyfriend per year. These are staggering casualties that can be prevented if only we will stand together against this behavior in our communities. To highlight this issue in our community, 2 Sisters Behavioral Consulting will host a service in honor of those who have lost their lives and embrace those who continue to suffer.
As a leader in the community, you are essential to the success of this day! Working to educate people on such a pervasive issue, we need strong voices from the community to help spread the message. We invite you to attend our program beginning at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, October 7, 2006, at Jenkins Memorial CME Church, 4218 Windsor Spring Rd. Hephzibah, GA 30815.
Your leadership and support for our campaign against domestic violence will not only educate concerned citizens from the Augusta and CSRA community, but will also generate the kind of press and publicity it will take to make a difference in the lives of families nationwide.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us, by email or by phone at (706) 373-5698 or Regina Miller-Doyley 706-877-5023. We look forward to working with you on this issue.
Sincerely,
Vivian D. Alexander
